A.P.A. is a punk rock band out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Their sound compares to Blitz, Infa Riot, and the Partisans. Originally
formed in 1993 by Chet "Da Bastard" Knight, A.P.A has grown to become one
of Atlanta's most popular punk bands. A.P.A. has released 3 7" records
on Chet's own 45 Revolutions Records (click the link below to visit
their website), and been featured on a number of compilations. Their
new full length album on GMM Records, "Zero Hour," is causing a
stir worldwide. Upcoming projects include a picture disc LP of the
album on 45 Revolutions, a split 10" EP on Knock Out Records
with
the Boils, a split 7" EP on Squigtone Records with
Blind Society, and a tentative split 7" EP on TKO Records
with
the Templars. A.P.A plays shows in Atlanta and all along the
east coast, touring with bands such as the Krays, the
Drones,
and the Boils. Future tours include east coast tours with
Major
Accident.
February 4th, 2000 Interesting news about APA... we recieved the annual CMJ College Music
Journal charts yesterday. This chart documents popularity of ALL
bands played on college radio stations. Apparently, APA did quite
well... in fact, APA placed #18 out of thousands of bands, and #2 out of
all punk bands! Ironically enough, Major Accident also was on the
CMJ list... ranking at #15, and #1 out of all punk bands! How funny
is that? This tour is going to end up showcasing the #1 and #2 punk
bands of college radio stations in the entire USA! Now THERE's a
hook for a show!
For all you people that love sporting off various APA merchandise,
you're in luck. In support of the upcoming Major Accident
tour, APA is going to be selling TONS of new merchandise! The new
stuff includes two new t-shirt designs, including a tour shirt, and a shirt
with the cover art from "This is Your Law." Also, new pin designs
have been made, and hopefully patches will be done in time, as well.
Pictured below are the new pin designs.
If you click on the below thumbnail, you can see the design for the
tour shirt.
Some bad news about the upcoming Major Accident tour. The Anti-Heros
have dropped off of the Atlanta show on February 10th, due to booking problems.
Also, the New Jersey show was finally cancelled, due to negotation problems
with clubs. So all you Jersey-ites come out to CBGB's on February
15th for the show in NYC instead! Because of this cancellation, a
Providence, RI show is being booked, and will take place either at the
Crown Room, or Lupo's. Bands will include Major Accident and
Foreign
Legion, and possibly the Templars. On the subject of the
Baltimore show, taking place on February 18th, the Sidebar has been ruled
out, unfortunately, and we are still looking for a club to hold the show
at, though we are confident that the show will go on. Bands will
be booked at a date in the near future. Right now, the bill just
has APA on it, but more bands will be added soon. Keep checking back
for news about that, as well.
Also, if you missed APA's performance at CBGB's on October 22nd w/Oxymoron
and many more, don't fret! The show was filmed (except for the Hudson
Falcons, because the camera man got there late) in its entireity!
There is a video of one song by each of the bands who were filmed.
Songs include "We are the Ones," done by the Relix, "Sweatshops"
by the Boils, "Welcome to the East Coast," by the Wretched Ones,
"We Rule O.K." by Oxymoron, "Midnight Invasion" by the Krays,
and "Terminators" by APA. Click the banner below to go there!
And finally, I'm sure a lot of people have heard about the Chaos Festival
happening in early June in Atlanta. If you haven't... WHY THE
HELL NOT? This show is going to be fucking AMAZING! Confirmed
bands already include the WARRIORS(with ex- LAST RESORT members
& songs),the CRACK, the TEMPLARS, BEERZONE, GUNDOG,
TERMINUS CITY, A.P.A., the BREAKAWAYS, BATTALION 86, URBAN RIOT,
the
KRAYS, the RELIX, NO HOLDS BARRED, & MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON! Click on the link below for more information!
